Things to Do This Weekend 3/17 – 3/18 Edition  

It’s the last weekend of winter 2012, but that doesn’t me you and the leprechauns can’t have a bit of fun Saturday and Sunday. Find your rain gear and go out. All events are kid friendly and either free or a good value for the money. Too far away? Check your local stores, libraries, community centers and parks departments for more accessible activities.

St. Patrick's Day Celebration at Mcmenamins

Featuring great local music and specials on Irish edibles throughout the Kingdom this weekend. Click through to check locations. All day; all ages. Free. 

The Great Potato Smack-Down at the Tanasbourne Whole Foods - Saturday 11:30am - 12:30pm. “Join us for this tasting event where each of our teams in the store will be vying for the St. Patrick's Day title of "Potato Champion." Each team will make a potato dish and you are invited to taste and vote on your favorite.”  Free.

International Storytime – Saturday at the Hillsboro Main Library from 1:15pm to 2pm.Volunteers share stories in Japanese along with fun activities. International Storytimes are a fun way to be exposed to a new language or enjoy a language that you already know! 

CelloBop - Saturday at the Hillsboro Main Library from 3pm to 4pm. “Cello innovator Gideon Freudmann has created his own style of music called CelloBop - a fusion of blues, jazz, folk and much more.”

Manners Matter! Saturday 10am at the Tanasbourne Store. “Please join Miss Gioia for stories, crafts and a light snack!”

Mosaic Indonesia at the Beaverton City Library – Saturday at 1pm. Presented by the Indonesian Performing Arts of Oregon. The performance is free, but a $5 donation is suggested.

Storytime at the Beaverton Main Library Saturday 1:00pm - 1:30pm for English and 3:00 PM - 3:30 PM for Spanish. All ages.

Powell’s Kids' Storytime Join us every Saturday in March at 11am. All ages.
